Tensioned fabric facade systems are used across the globe to address building challenges such as blocking UV rays, reducing energy usage, and eliminating the need for unsightly interior curtains and shades. The team at Eide Industries has partnered with FACID to bring our clients some of the best options for facade systems.
The FACID 65 and FACID M tensioned fabric facade systems both offer guaranteed precision for a taut motionless facade with their engineered aluminum profiles and frames. Perfect for new construction or retrofit projects, these systems can be designed for partial coverage or full coverage of the building envelope.
FACID 65
FACID 65 facade systems are assembled in the field according to an engineered plan. The system is designed with a combination of perimeter profiles, joint profiles, and outside corner profiles to achieve the desired aesthetics. When motionless facades are the goal, a combination of perimeter and joint profiles should be used, but when the design calls for minimized seams, perimeter profiles can solely be used to tension fabric panels that have been fused together. The latter option may experience some movement on windy days, but maintains the same levels of safety and durability.
The FACID 65 systems are installed with a three-step process:
- Cut the extrusions and drill the necessary holes into the structure
- Fasten the extrusions to structure
- Clip and tension the fabric
Designers have the opportunity to create truly unique designs with the FACID 65 system by experimenting with intersecting, pitches and leans, and digital printing.
FACID M
FACID M facade systems are modular and delivered in pre-tensioned panels. The pre-assembled fabrics are tensioned on perimeter frames in the factory in order to reduce costs associated with the job site installation. The result is a high-quality but more cost-effective option for tensioned facade systems.
The FACID M systems are installed with a three-step process:
- Install a clip system to the structure
- Deliver pre-tensioned panels
- Hang and secure the panels
With a wide range of accessories, including tracks for moving panels, remote controls, and hinges for window cleaning access, FACID M systems are ideal for many projects that require additional functionality beyond the traditional benefits of a tensioned fabric facade.
